As a participant-teacher for Teach for Slovakia, Simona Marcinková has experience teaching at the elementary school level in the marginalized Roma community located in the largest Roma settlement in Slovakia. For her CSP practicum, Simona collaborated with Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia where she developed ideas on teaching and teacher empowerment. For her follow-on project in Slovakia, Simona plans to focus on empowering teachers who work with students from socially disadvantaged environments.
