Sinen Neang
As a social protection program officer for the Solidarity Center, Sinen Neang has experience working across multiple sectors in promoting labor rights and social protection. For his CSP practicum Somem collaborated with the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, AFL-CIO in Washington, DC where he expanded his existing expertise around social protections through an independent research project and presentation for APALA members. He also helped lead the organizing of APALA's international solidarity working group around several priorities including China issues/Anti-Asian hate and Bangladesh garment worker solidarity. For his follow-on project in Cambodia, Sinen plans to expand labor rights protections for youth workers, create collective barganning agreements, and amply the voice of workers through labor policy and legistation processes recognized by labor institutions
