Sylvia Nankya is a journalist with in-depth media experience and interest in development communication. Nankya possesses multiple skills and experiences in communication, public relations, media program development, and project management. During her fellowship in the U.S., Sylvia hopes to pick lessons from best practices in conflict resolution while also gaining skills in managing and resolving conflicts using the media as a medium.

Upon returning from the Community Solutions Program, Sylvia hopes to document accounts of what communities and individuals living in conflict and post-conflict areas are doing to stop violence and all forms of conflict. The publication will be a collection of tales on the power of the media, extraordinary things done by ordinary people to stop violence, and approaches that work in conflict resolution.
