For four decades, Tabotu Wolde Michael has worked as a reporter, editor, trainer and director at a variety of Ethiopian media outlets. After starting out as a reporter, she was head of the English service at Radio Ethiopia, freelanced as an English newscaster for Ethiopian television, and was a program director for the external service of Voice of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa. She was an Information Specialist at the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa in the Public Affairs Section and later became IREX’s country representative for its Ethiopian Media Professionalism program. She is a founding member of the Ethiopian Media Women’s Association.
