Tiffany Hwang
Tiffany Hwang is a program officer for Fulbright Teacher Exchanges. In this role, Tiffany focuses on professional learning experiences for K-12 educators. Her work on strategic communications and online courses for teachers fosters global competence and improves access to global education resources.
Prior to joining IREX, Tiffany taught in Taiwan for two years as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. She later received a Fulbright Taiwan Teacher Trainer Award to advise new grantees, lead professional development workshops, and facilitate English camps in underserved communities. She also strengthened the alumni network by curating content as a managing editor for Fulbright Taiwan’s Research & Reflections Journal.
Tiffany’s background includes educational research experience and curriculum design as well. Most recently, she analyzed the impact of soft skills on youth workforce outcomes in sub-Saharan Africa for USAID. Additionally, she collaborated with U.S. educators to develop Connect Science, a service-learning curriculum that weaves together social-emotional learning, civic engagement, and science for elementary school students.
Tiffany attended the University of Virginia, where she earned her master’s degree in Educational Psychology and Applied Developmental Science, bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science and Psychology, and certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
