As a Teacher for the Ministry of Education, Ugyen Chophel has experience initiating waste management activities to promote a greener environment. Ugyen is placed at The Repurpose Project in Gainesville, FL to support the implementation of their waste management programs. Upon returning to Bhutan, Ugyen plans to establish an initiative to promote waste management through improved policies, and to engage the community in waste management activities through inclusive trainings.
