Valerie Francois
As a Community Physician with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Valerie Francois provides young women and girls medical services and emotional support. Francois is also the Medical Director and Founder of MEDPLUS, an organization overseeing free medical clinics for women and children that seek to prevent HIV/AIDS, early pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases. She has also worked with the Gheskio Center, a non-governmental organization dedicated to research, training, and care for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. While in the U.S., Francois worked at the AIDS Community Research Initiative of America in New York City, where she learned about implementing health awareness campaigns and strategies. Having completed the Community Solutions Program, Francois is working on a project targeting homeless women and girls in order to provide medical support and educational avenues for employment.
