Viera Böttcher is an activist providing strategic support and consulting for women’s NGOs in Slovakia.

She is the co-founder of Slovak Czech Women’s Fund, the sole bi-national funding agency to promote Slovak and Czech feminist initiatives in both countries and cross-border initiatives. She served as a member of the Executive Board of the Slovak Donors Forum and local advisor for Global Fund for Women. For five years she actively promoted women oriented philanthropy and social justice values at the annual conferences of the European Foundations Centre and at the Grantmakers East Forum.

From 1999-2004, she worked for the Open Society Foundation Bratislava as the program manager of the Women in Society Program.
