Virginia works in the fashion sector as the Director, Co-Founder, Designer, and General Manager of Universo UNO. For people with disabilities, motorcycle users, people with Raynaud’s, and outdoor workers, Universo UNO is a clothing company that considers customers’ needs and develops clothing that contributes to their empowerment, social inclusion, and freedom of expression. The company designs and produces clothing and accessories for body types that are not catered for in the mainstream market. Virginia aims to expand the company internationally in the short term and ultimately offer a variety of clothing and product options that integrate technological advances. Coming into the YLAI Fellowship, Virginia’s top business challenge is Scaling and Expansion. More specifically, they want to expand their company and understand the facets of foreign trade. During the Fellowship Placement, Virginia hopes to gain knowledge and discover how large companies manage their projects and trade agreements so they can explore ways to improve their production processes.
