Yassine Mtiri
Yassine Mtiri is a regional program officer in the MENA region for the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Alumni Connection Program in IREX's Leadership Practice.
In his current role, Yassine contributes to the design, implementation, and evaluation of the different grants and projects intended for MEPI alumni to strengthen their leadership skills, develop their entrepreneurial success-oriented mindset, and to keep encouraging them to be change makers in their communities.
Prior to joining IREX, Yassine was the exchange programs officer at AMIDEAST TUNISIA, for three years. He managed the Kennedy – Lugar YES Program, Tomorrow’s Leaders Program, and Fulbright Foreign Students Program. Major responsibilities included preparing recruitment outlines, conducting outreach and information sessions, contacting candidates with acceptance and / or rejections emails, sorting applications, coordinating interviews and planning alumni programs.
Yassine also worked as the communication manager of WeCode Land Project with the “Youth Decides” organization for a year. He designed the project’s communication strategy and worked on implementing it throughout the year.
Yassine completed several internships before and after his graduation in 2017. He participated in a senatorial political campaign while in the U.S., internships at Radio Jeune as a participating writer, and with “Youth Decides” as a communication assistant prior to being employed with the NGO.
Yassine has a license degree in communication and master’s degree in cross media from the Institute of Press and Sciences Information and a certificate in political science studies from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. Yassine is an alumnus of the Thomas Jefferson Scholarship Program. Yassine is a native Arabic speaker and is fluent in English and French.
