As Senior Researcher and Program Officer within Egypt’s Ministry of Youth, Youssef Wardany focuses his work on drafting youth policy papers for Cabinet and government agency review. He also plays a role in conceptualizing new youth projects, coordinating with civil society organizations and international agencies on youth projects, and supporting larger youth volunteerism and community participation efforts in Egypt. As a fellow at the National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC) in St. Paul, Minnesota, Wardany enhanced his ability in monitoring and evaluating youth programs and developed new managerial and leadership skills. He transferred his 10 years of experience in running youth projects and writing youth research within the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and other civil society organizations to his colleagues at NYLC. Upon completion of the Community Solutions Program, Wardany worked to increase community members’ roles in developing and designing their own youth programs in Egypt.
