Yunuhen Rangel Medina
Yunuhen Rangel Medina, Mexico, is a journalist, photojournalist and an advocate for women's rights and freedom of expression. Since 2008, she works with the Women’s Center on Information & Communication (CIMAC) and provides research and reports on gender issues. Additionally, she serves as coordinator with the Network of Journalists for Freedom of Expression to promote the democratization of media in Mexico and other countries, and create a space for producing and disseminating news on the social status of women from a human rights perspective. She is a member of the National Network of Human Rights Defenders in Mexico, the National Network of Journalists, and is part of the coordination body of the International Network of Journalists with a gender perspective, which comprises 36 countries. In 2011, she produced a report on Violence against Women Journalists and helped develop a database on violence against female journalists in Mexico.
