As the co-founder of Cooperativa Senderos del Alto, Zaira Xicay has experience in organizational development, the design and planning of corporate social responsibility programs, and the development of methodologies to promote rural tourism. During the fellowship, Zaira Gabriela aims to learn better practices for sustainable tourism, strategies for business growth, as well as strategies for expansion to new segments and markets. Upon returning to Guatemala, Zaira Gabriela plans to consolidate and expand her venture in order to create a sustainable development model for rural tourism that can be replicated in other rural areas in Guatemala.
