America House and American Spaces in Ukraine

Goals

The mission of America House is to catalyze the prosperous and democratic future of Ukraine by investing in emerging leaders and strengthening ties between Ukrainians and Americans.

As the US Embassy’s premier platform for whole-of-mission educational, cultural, and outreach programs in Ukraine, America House promotes US interests in Ukraine by creating a welcoming, technology-forward space that fosters open discussion and debate, builds cultural bridges to deepen communication on key issues, provides opportunities for professional and personal skill-building for Ukrainians, and sparks creativity, innovation, and collaboration to advance shared Ukrainian and U.S. values.

America House also aims to support U.S. public diplomacy in Ukraine by:

  • Creating a place for innovative, direct engagement with Ukrainian audiences
  • Promoting open dialogue
  • Counteracting negative preconceptions
  • Building cultural bridges to deepen mutual understanding

Since 2015, IREX has ensured that America House is an integral amplifier of civil society, strengthening youth awareness and engagement in reforms, and providing a platform for important conversations, as well as access to information and resources that promote open dialogue and mutual understanding between Ukrainians and Americans.
