Overview
Fulbright Teacher Exchanges are programs of the U.S. Department of State, funded by the U.S. Congress. Through these professional learning programs, elementary and secondary educators, in the United States and around the world, develop their educational practice and bring global knowledge, skills and perspectives to their schools. Educators forge lasting connections and prepare their students to be future leaders, equipped to work with others around the world to address global challenges.
Fulbright Teacher Exchange participants equip their students with skills to successfully engage with the world by bringing an international perspective to U.S. schools. Each year we send educators from across the United States to participate in programs abroad from two weeks to six months. Accepted educators have a wide range of teaching experience in public, private, or charter schools. Successful applicants come from all backgrounds, and their applications demonstrate how the exchange experience will influence their teaching and their students going forward.
Programs for Non-U.S. Educators:
Fulbright Teacher Exchanges bring primary and secondary educators from more than 80 countries and territories around the world to the United States for professional growth and learning. Participants have the opportunity to expand leadership skills and build mutual understanding within their U.S. host communities. The specific number of opportunities and program options depends on the location. The U.S. Embassy or Fulbright Commission in participating countries and territories have more information about available opportunities and application requirements.
