IREX works with local journalists, media outlets, media advocacy groups and online content creators to support media that empower citizens, uphold democratic values, and champion the free exchange of ideas, ensuring that Georgian citizens have access to fact-based, impartial reporting and information. IREX also works with Georgian civil society organizations (CSOs) to ensure that the country’s media space is strengthened, amplify diverse independent voices which provide wider access to credible, fact-based information, and encourage innovation in the media sector to try new approaches that connect with audiences and build financial viability. IREX has previously facilitated partnerships between media outlets in Georgia and the United States and worked with educational professionals.
